Workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI)-empowered Internet of Things (AIoT)

August 18, 2025   Belgrade, Serbia

WORKSHOP SCOPE

The deep integration of Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), known as the Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT), grows as important interdisciplinary research field at the crossroads of information and communication technology (ICT) and computer science. The aim of this workshop is to further explore sensing, perception, transmission, learning and computation in the context of AIoT. It focuses on the following key problems: 1) AI-empowered AIoT multimodal sensing and perception, 2) Collaborative multi-node AIoT node sensing and perception; 3) Semantic and task-oriented IoT communications, 4) Massive intelligent random/multiple access methods for semantic AIoT communications; 5) End-to-end AIoT optimised semantic decision-making, 6) Distributed (split and federated) learning and inference for resource-efficient AIoT. The goal of the workshop is to better understand and provide guidelines for the design, development, deployment and evaluation of future AI-empowered semantic-based AIoT networks. To address the above challenges, this workshop aims at bringing together researchers from academia and industry to discuss recent breakthroughs and novel applications related to semantic communications and AIoT.

This workshop seeks original and unpublished works in the broad area of AI-empowered IoT networks, semantic communication for AIoT, and end-to-end optimised distributed learning for AIoT. The topics of interest for this workshop include, but are not limited to:

  • Semantic communications for AIoT
  • Semantic information representation for AIoT
  • Random/multiple access for massive AIoT networks
  • Cooperative sensing and perception for AIoT systems
  • End-to-end optimisation of semantic and task-driven AIoT systems
  • LLM and Agentic AI empowered AIoT networks
  • Network architectures and protocols for semantic AIoT communications
  • Semantic-aware resource management for edge-cloud AIoT continuum
  • Experiments and testbeds for semantic AIoT communications
