Wireless Frontier New Technology and Test Technology Summit Successfully Held
Seminar | 2024/12/25On December 5th, Keysight Technologies, in collaboration with the FuTURE Mobile Communication Forum, successfully hosted the Wireless Frontier New Technologies and Testing Summit in Beijing. This summit focused on the latest advancements in wireless communications technologies, bringing together industry professionals and technical experts from Keysight Technologies to discuss emerging trends, developments, and challenges.
Zhang Xinsheng, Advisor to the Telecommunication Science and Technology Committee of the MIIT, and Bai Ying, Manager of Keysight Technologies's Wireless Marketing Department, delivered the opening speeches at the summit.
In his speech, Zhang Xinsheng highlighted that information and communications technologies are currently at the forefront of major transformations. The advancement of future mobile communication networks—particularly 5G-A, 6G, AI, and quantum communication technologies—presents both exciting opportunities and significant challenges. He emphasized that the FuTURE Mobile Communication Forum has always been dedicated to promoting the development and application of cutting-edge technologies and aims to foster a multiparty cooperation platform to drive breakthroughs in frontier research and the implementation of emerging technologies.
Bai Ying also spoke about Keysight Technologies' commitment to the test and measurement field, highlighting its expertise across industries such as communications, aerospace, automotive, and semiconductors, and its ongoing efforts to expand and enhance its product lines. The company actively embraces new technologies and provides advanced test and measurement tools, along with comprehensive end-to-end testing solutions, to meet customer needs.
During the speech session, Wu Jianjun, Deputy Secretary-General of the FuTURE Mobile Communication Forum, shared insights on Key Technical Approaches for Digital Low-Altitude Infrastructure. As a national strategic emerging industry, low-altitude economy is attracting increasing attention. Wu discussed the critical role of organized operations and regulation in fostering the growth of low-altitude economy. He covered topics ranging from the demand and network structure of low-altitude information infrastructure, to the selection of spectrum for low-altitude networks. His speech outlined strategies for developing the low-altitude economy industry and ecosystem.
Zhang Kunli, Wireless Technical Support Manager for Keysight Technologies' Northern Region, delved into the critical role of innovative test solutions in the development, deployment, and optimization of B5G networks, as well as in 6G technology research. Zhang explored four key areas: new spectrum technologies, AI and machine learning networks, digital twins, and new network technologies, demonstrating how Keysight Technologies helps engineers and researchers tackle the complexity of next-generation wireless systems by seamlessly integrating cutting-edge testing methods.
Liu Guangyi, Chief Expert at China Mobile, focused on the prospects of integrating 6G networks with AI. AI has become the core driving force behind the latest round of industrial upgrades. To realize the 6G vision of "Digital Twins and Intelligent Ubiquity," it is essential to incorporate AI as a new capability and service within 6G communication networks. Liu offered a detailed overview of the challenges, design concepts, and design strategies involved in the integration of 6G networks with AI.
Xu Yunxiang, Vice President of Shanghai Yuanxin Satellite Technology Co., Ltd. and General Manager of the Science and Technology Innovation Department, explored how direct-to-cell satellite technology could help bridge the global digital divide in the 6G era. Satellite mobile internet offers advantages such as extensive coverage, large capacity, and technological innovation, helping to create seamless and fully covered global communication. Direct-to-cell satellite technology, which does not rely on dedicated terminals or terrestrial cellular networks, allows ordinary users to connect in areas where terrestrial network coverage is unavailable. This technology is critical for achieving integrated space-air-ground network coverage.
In the technology-sharing session, Li Fuchang, Director of the Wireless Technology Research Center at China Unicom Research Institute, provided an in-depth update on the latest developments in integrated communication and sensing technologies and the associated testing and evaluation requirements. As a typical use case for 6G, integrated communication and sensing technology's inherent sensing capabilities will offer entirely new Sensing-as-a-Service (SaaS) for future networks, enabling new applications in low-altitude economy, smart transportation, smart healthcare, and more.
Zhang Hang, Senior Technical Solution Engineer at Keysight Technologies, gave a detailed introduction to the latest developments in the 3GPP Rel 18 and Rel 19 standards in the eMBB and vertical sectors. He explored how 5G-Advanced is driving the intelligent, automated, and high-performance evolution of networks based on existing standards, offering stronger technical support for future applications in smart societies, industrial Internet, autonomous driving, and cloud computing.
Yang Fan, Technical Solution Engineer at Keysight Technologies, explored Wi-Fi 7 technology in-depth, covering the evolution of Wi-Fi standards, its future development, and the latest features and benefits of Wi-Fi 7 technology. He also discussed how Wi-Fi 7 meets the demands for high-speed, low-latency, and large-throughput applications across a range of local area network scenarios. The session concluded with an introduction to Keysight Technologies' comprehensive signaling and non-signaling test solutions, which are helping customers gain a competitive edge in the market.
Wang Ruixin, Standard Director of vivo, introduced the progress in 5G UE radiation performance and OTA testing standards. Starting with a general overview of the advancements in OTA technology over recent years, he summarized key conclusions from the Rel 18 standard and previewed new research in Rel 19, which includes SISO OTA expansion, MIMO OTA, and AI/ML OTA testing methods.
Li Feng, Senior Technical Solution Engineer at Keysight Technologies, provided a detailed overview of the latest high-performance, low-cost wireless IoT technologies, including RedCap, UWB, and Bluetooth, as well as how Keysight's advanced testing solutions support their development. The IoT serves as the media for integrating and applying next-generation information technologies. It is widely used across sectors and is essential for driving the new wave of industrial transformation and the sustainable, intelligent, and green development of the global economy.
Finally, Sun Changming, Senior Technical Solution Engineer at Keysight Technologies, introduced 5G NR-V2X technology, which is designed to meet advanced V2X service requirements. He discussed how 5G NR enhances the PC5 and Uu interfaces and introduces new features like V2X communication slicing, edge computing, and QoS prediction. These advances enable lower latency, higher reliability, and greater bandwidth, supporting key autonomous driving functions such as vehicle platooning, advanced driving, extended sensors, and remote driving.
