The experts from China and Japan in mobile communication fields have been keeping in close touch during the past decade. Since 2005, FuTURE FORUM has organized the annual Sino-Japan academic workshop on mobile communication technologies and laid a sound foundation for the cooperative research. Through sound negotiation, five national key labs of wireless communication reached an agreement to set up a joint fund for China-Japan R&D of wireless and mobile communication technologies. The Cooperative MEMO of the China-Japan joint fund was signed in Qinghai in August of 2010, to actively promote the academic communication and joint research between China and Japan. The founder labs include Tsinghua National Laboratory for Information Science and Technology, National Laboratory for the Next Generation Internet Access System of HUST, National Mobile Communications Research Laboratory of Southeast University, National Key Lab. of Communication of UESTC, and The State Key Laboratory of Integrated Services Networks of Xidian University. The major research scope covers 4G and evolved mobile communication technologies, mobile Internet, sensor network, and IoT applications.
