Assessment and Promotion Meeting on Sino-Swedish Cooperative Program: IMT-Advanced and Beyond Held in Wuhan
International | 2011/6/27Assessment and Promotion Meeting on Sino-Swedish Cooperative Program: IMT-Advanced and Beyond was held in Wuhan on June 17 of 2011. The meeting was hosted by Prof. YOU Xiaohu, Secretary-General of FuTURE FORUM, and attended by over 50 representatives from 20 units, including China Mobile, China Telecom, Huawei, ZTE, Datang, and Fiberhome.
Prof. YOU Xiaohu made a comprehensive conclusion on this project. Initiated in 2008, the Sino-Swedish Cooperative Program has almost completed the research work, and come to the conclusion, analysis and assessment. The both parties have been conducted active research work during the recent years and achieved remarkable results. The research subject mainly focused on IMT Advanced mobile communication system, including physical layer and network layer, solving the basic theoretical problems such as multi-cell collaboration, multi-antenna signal procession, network collaboration and self-organization, proposing a series innovative technologies and algorithms, such as wireless access technology with distributed processing capacities and collaborative mechanism, energy efficient resource allocation and wireless transmission, heterogeneous-network-centered and environment-cognition-based mobility management. There are totally 112 patents, nearly 200 dissertations, over 200 meeting papers, and 85 SCI papers, 99 technical schemes proposed to domestic and international standardization organizations, with over 100 doctoral and master students and over 30 international communication activities. Due to the efforts paid by FuTURE FORUM, four joint workshops were given to further improve the international influence of this program.
The technical cooperation and academic communication with Sweden will continue in the future, since the intention on further cooperation was proposed to Sweden on Sanya meeting in March of 2011. The expert board hopes to involve more academic and industrial staff to further expand and deepen the research on 4G and advanced wireless communication technologies.
