May 15th of 2012, Seminar on IoT Industrial Application and Innovative Wireless Communication Technology, co-hosted by the steering board of the major special project on the next generation broadband wireless mobile communication network and FuTURE FORUM, was held in Beijing.
Mr. WU Hequan, general chef of the major special project on the next generation broadband wireless mobile communication network made an address on the seminar stating that industrial applications should be fully combined with wireless communication technology. The goal of this seminar is to make the mobile communication experts learn more IoT industrial requirements, and take these requirements as important references for the planning of the major special project on the next generation broadband wireless mobile communication network.
11 senior experts from the IoT projects on coals, environment protection, bridges and roads, river navigation, geological survey, auto manufacturing, community services, remote medicine, and live stocks, gave excellent reports on their IoT demonstration projects and advanced applications, fully exhibiting the current requirements and innovative applications in different areas, and highly appreciated by the participants.
IoT development cannot be separated from public mobile communication. Mr. ZHAO Lijun, Director of Wuxi IoT research institute of China Mobile and Mr. JIN dongbin, Vice Chief Engineer of China Telecom both made impressive speeches on the how IoT influences the society and economy, and the public service oriented IoT operating platform.
Mr. YANG Zemin, Secretary-General of CCSA and Prof. YOU Xiaohu, Secretary-General of FuTURE FORUM respectively hosted the morning and afternoon meeting. Mr. YANG Zemin expressed that he was happy to learn the real situation of many industrial IoT applications, and the important roles that IoT can play in secure production, informational management, disaster warning, and agricultural production. The experts of the steering board proposed many positive suggestions on the planning and implementation of IoT project in the major special project after hearing the current situation of IoT applications and construction.
