In order to promote the cross-strait communication and cooperation on 5G technologies, FuTURE FORUM helped organizing NCP to visit two FuTUTE members, Datang Group and Peking University, exchanging on 5G research plan.

22 experts of NCP delegation, accompanied by Ms. FU Jun, Vice Secretary-General of FuTURE FORUM, visited Datang Group first. Dr. WANG Yingmin, Director of Datang Wireless Mobile Innovation Center, showed the demonstrating hall to all the visitors, introducing the achievements of Datang group in recent years. The experts communicated on the future plan on 5G R&D.

Prof. WU Jingxiong, Chair of Taiwan NCP Plan introduced the NCP plan, and their objectives on B4G/5G research, communication software, platform technologies, embedded technologies, and application services. Mr. SUN Shaohui, Chief Engineer of Datang Wireless Mobile Innovation Center, and Dr. KANG Shaoli, introduced Datang’s 5G evolution route based on the vision and requirements on 5G technologies.

Accompanied by Ms. FU Jun, NCP delegation continued to visit Peking University. Prof. JIAO Bingli and his R&D team had an exchange and discussion with Taiwan experts. Prof. JIAO Bingli introduced Co-frequency Co-time Full Duplex which interested the Taiwan experts very much. The both sides had a heated exchange on the details of this technology, and visit the hardware testing environment on the campus of Peking University

Due to the time limitation, the contents of this visit were very limited. In order to compensate whatever they missed, FuTURE FORUM will organize a delegation to visit Taiwan and have exchange on 5G technologies, offering more opportunities for the members to have fuller communication with Taiwan Advanced R&D Institutes.

In addition to the cross-strait communication, FuTURE FORUM will hold the International 5G Summit in the coming October, and will invite the senior experts from all over the world to discuss the orientation for the development of the next generation mobile communications.
