On June 26th of 2014, hosted by Agilent, cooperated by FuTURE FORUM, Future Mobile Communication 5G Testing Technology Summit was held at Beijing Beichen Intercontinental Hotel. Communication enterprises were invited to discuss the latest progress on 5G R&D and the experience and challenges on measurement and testing. Nearly 300 experts participated in this Summit.

Mr. YANG Zemin, Vice President of FuTURE FORUM and Secretary-General of CCSA, and Mr. YAN Zhongyi, Vice President of Agilent &Greater China General Manager attended the Summit and gave addresses. Seniors from communication industry, experienced experts and researchers had in-depth discussion on the development of the next generation communication technologies and hot issues. Experts from China Mobile, SRRC, Huawei, Samsung, and SEU respectively proposed new requirements on 5G testing technologies.

This Summit covered Green Efficient Network and Virtualization, Radio Management, MMW Channel Measurement, Massive MIMO, Channel modeling and simulation, Systematic Verification of nonorthogonal waveform. Sample system display stands were set up for the audience to learn the advanced platform, tools, and solutions of provided by Agilent. The prototypes included EDA software simulation tools, analysis on ultra-broadband multi-channel signals, mmW/THz solutions, high frequency channel and components testing tools.

The research on advanced technologies will bring new requirements and challenges for testing field including test instrument hardware platform and measurement methodology. At the early stage of 5G R&D, each technology requires new measurement method and instrument. This Summit provides a good opportunity for the testing enterprises and communication enterprises to have full exchange. Agilent hopes to provide a series of testing products and solutions through close cooperation with various communication enterprises, jointly promote the development of wireless communication technologies, and realize the accessible and reachable 5G vision.
