Workshop on the Next Generation Satellite Mobile Communication and Space-Earth Integration was held on July 10th in Beijing Xiangshan Hotel

This workshop invited the authoritative experts in the field of satellite communication from Tsinghua University, China Satcom, CAST, CATR, and HIT to give impressive speeches, and share their research results on the relative technologies, applications, and standards of Space-Earth Integration, brainstorming on the future development of satellite communication, and providing valuable suggestions on the implementation of the major special projects on the development and standardization of satellite mobile communication technologies during the 13th Five-Year Plan.

It is proposed on this workshop that Space-Earth Integration is the major orientation for the development of future mobile network. Compared with the land mobile communication, the development of satellite mobile communication lagged behind, and there is no in-depth research on relative technologies. It is pointed out that the development of satellite mobile communication can refer to experience gained from the research on 5G mobile communication network and constructs the new space-earth integrated network structure. Virtual technology was stressed as an important role in space-earth integration. Spectrum sharing and CDN technology, as the concrete applications, reflect the advantages of virtual technologies in the framework of space-earth integration.
