“FuTURE Trial System Open Day” & “Seminar on Key Broadband Communication Technology”
International | 2007/2/3FuTURE MOBILE COMMUNICATION FORUM held the “FuTURE Activity Open Week”, during which several activities were successively conducted, including the “FuTURE Trial System Open Day”, “Seminar on Key Broadband Communication Technology”, “The fifth Working Group Meeting of FuTURE FORUM”, and “Rural Investigation and Communication”. The “FuTURE Activity Open Week” lasted the longest among all the activities that had been organized by FuTURE FORUM, so it was widely focused on and participated by the members. Shanghai was the first stop in the open week where the “FuTURE Trial System Open Day” and “Seminar on Key Broadband Communication Technology” were held.
The argumentation for the FuTURE II Project in the National 863 Plan is being carried on in order to be coherent to the significant program. With the purpose of introducing FuTURE Project to all involved in the communication industry and of absorbing relative suggestions and advice, the “FuTURE Trial System Open Day” and “Seminar on Key Broadband Communication Technology” were held from January 27th to 28th of 2007, which was also organized to welcome Mr. Pekkarinen, Minister of Finland Department of Trade and Industry, who was paying a visit to Shanghai and simultaneously as the prelude of the fifth working group meeting of FuTURE FORUM.
The trial system open activity was held on the morning of January 27th and 28th, in which the attendees got on board the testing vehicle to experience the 4G service and watch the demonstration of Interactive Hi-Definition Image Processing such as wireless transmission, video meeting, video order program. Prof. Wei Guo, member of the expert group of FuTURE Project, introduced the trial system in details to the attendees who were greatly interested in the 4G service. The journalists all took photos for the sites of the trial system.
Seminar on Key Broadband Communication Technology was held in Shanghai Royalton Hotel on the afternoon of January 28th, which was hosted by Ms. Fu Jun, Vice Secretary-General of FuTURE FORUM and attended by the representatives from the Forum members and others who were concerned about the development of China’s future mobile communication. The seminar was divided into two parts. The first part was to introduce FuTURE Project, in which Prof. Wang Ping from Shanghai Research Center of Wireless Communications and Dr. Tao Xiaofeng from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications respectively made excellent reports on the R&D plan and the outfield trial system of FuTURE Project, and the attendees discussed and communicated with the lecturers on various concrete problems. In the second part, four experts respectively from TiMi Technologies, Datang Mobile, Intel, and B-Star in turn made special lectures on several key broadband communication technologies such as multi-media broadcasting service, Development of TDD evolution and standardization, Interactive New Media Network, and the next generation broadband mobile communication technology. The experts made an overall analysis on the trends and features of the development of key technologies, emphasized the possible applications of such technologies in China and expected that these technologies could be further developed in the R&D of China’s future mobile communication technologies.
