The 2nd working group meeting of FuTURE FORUM 2009

The 2nd working group meeting of FuTURE FORUM 2009 was held in Mudanjiang from July 28 to 29, which was attended by over 50 representatives from the Forum members.

On the 2nd working group meeting, WG3, with the research focus on congitive radio and allocation of 2.6GHz band, gave an overall introduction of the wireless communication system with shared spectrum resources which was one of the significant project in the National 863 Plan. The suggestions on the allocation of 2.6GHz band were formed on this meeting and will be submitted to the relative departments after consulting with the Forum members. WG4, working on air interface, discussed on the progresses and thoughs of the R&D conducted by 3GPP. WG5 mainly concerned the issues in the R&D of IMT-Advanced systems. WG6 was focusing on M2M which will be taken as one of the major directions for the future R&D work of WG6. The speial BWA working group mainly discussed the subject on the standardization of education information and on the application of 3G data and terminals in education related fields.

In addition, experts from CATR, Samsung, and China Telecom were invited to make introduction on the latest progresses on certain international organizations including ITU and 3GPP.
