On October 10th of 2009, the Workshop on Sino-Swedish Strategic Cooperative Programme on Future Mobile Communication was held in Regal International East Asia Hotel in Shanghai. As a special section in APPC20009, this workshop was also the first blow of the follow-up Sino-Swedish communication activities.

APPC2009, co-hosted by China Institute of Communications and Shanghai Jiaotong University, is a reputed academic meeting annually held in Asia cooperated with the internationally well-known academic organization, IEEE. FuTURE FORUM, cooperating with the hosts, gave a communication section on the research achievements of Sino-Swedish Strategic Cooperative Programme on Future Mobile Communication Technologies.

The meeting was hosted by Prof. You Xiaohu, Secretary-General of FuTURE FORUM, on which Mr. Carl Wickman, Vice Director of International Collaboration & Networks of VINNOVA gave a general introduction of the Sino-Swedish Programme and the progresses gained by the seven sub-projects while the experts from the Chinese and Swedish universities respectively reported their achievements and further plan. Dr. Xiao Yue from UESTC, Prof. Chen Qingchun from SWJTU, and Dr. Hu Honglin from SHRCWC gave speeches on behalf of Chinese side, while Prof. Arne Svensson and Prof. Tommy Svensson from Chalmers University of Technology, and Dr. Anton Blad from Linköping University represented the Swedish side to make the reports on their progresses.

During the recent years when the Sino-Swedish Programme was carried on, numerous achievements have been made and many outstanding papers and patents have been published on certain authoritative journals and communication forums, which resulted in the enhancement of the influence of this cooperative research programme.
