The Fourth Working Group Meeting of 2009
Research | 2010/1/12Jan 7 to 8 of 2010, the fourth working group meeting of 2009 was held in Jingdong No.1 Hot Spring Resort. With the research subjects and methods going up to a new stage, the working group white paper 2009 has come to the closure. Base on the 2008 and 2009 version, the FuTURE Technical White Paper is going to be published, which is the first publication of the research achievements of FuTURE FORUM.
On the summary meeting, Mr. Xu Junqi, Director of IPR Center of CATR was invited to give a speech on the development of mobile communication patents, including the hot IPR issues such as the changes and development of 2G and LTE patent distribution, legislation of China’s IPR law, patent license and anti-monopoly, patent joint declaration, patent pool, and Nortel LTE patents, which generated wide interests among the experts.
Satellite mobile communication is another working stress for FuTURE FORUM. On the summary meeting, Mr. Liang Zongchuang, Director of R&D Center of Institute of Telecommunication Satellite of CAST made a report on the Concerns on Development of China’s Public Satellite Mobile Broadband Communication Systems, fully stating the development of global satellite mobile communication, the application, requirements and key technical research in China. Doctor Liang pointed out that China is in urgent need of an independent and regional satellite mobile broadband communication system which can support millions of potential users, cover the territorial lands and waters of China, support various terminals, and offer a diversity of mobile broadband communication services. And he also hoped to arouse discussion on the application and key technologies of satellite mobile communication among the working groups of FuTURE FORUM.
Ms. Pan Feng, Vice-Secretary-General of CCSA and Mr. Li Jinxing, Senior Consultant of CCSA, attended the summary meeting, made important instruction on the future work, and encouraged the Forum to combine the research and standardization so as to offer more technical references for the standardization. Prof. You Xiaohu, secretary-general of FuTURE FORUM, concluded that the research achievements of the Forum should be brought into practical application, such as interaction with standardization and the special significant projects, research on the subjects widely concerned or supported by specific projects, and draft suggestions on spectrum band distribution. Additionally, Prof. You Xiaohu also brought forth the hotspots in the research in the coming 5 to 10 years for the working groups, such as satellite mobile communication, future internet, convergence between wireless and wired, green network and communication, as well as the next generation broadcasting and TV services.
