The 1st working group meeting of FuTURE FORUM 2010 held in Beijing
Research | 2010/4/26The first working group meeting of FuTURE FORUM 2010 was held in Beijing Xiyuan Hotel from April 21st to 23rd of 2010. As the Technical White Paper was being edited for publication, this meeting set up a framework for the new research content.
The domestic and foreign operators, including China Mobile, China Telecom, NTT DoCoMo, and France Telecom, play important roles in WG1&2, discussed the requirements on the operation of application and service infrastructures, and introduced the hot issue “Future Internet” for further discussion. According to the experts in WG1&2, the current telecommunication operation value has changed a lot, and the value and orientation of the operators in the future need further clarification. How to provide higher quality and efficiencies, how to build better environment for network operation, and how to set up a better profit balance have become the major concerns for the operators.
The special report on focus problems made by authoritative experts, as an important communication method, has been appreciated by the members of the IPR WG. Mr. Zhao Jun, Director from SIPO was invited to make the report on the Revision of Patent Law Implementing Rules.
WG4 focused on the issue of MIMO Feedback and Optimization. WG5 mainly concerned the fair mechanism of the adaptive multi-hop OFDMA, while the expert from France Telecom made a demonstration on the opportunistic communication based on software radio platform, which interested a lot of experts. WG6, following the top-down research route, will stress some important issues such as Femto, and expect the members to widely participate in the research on MTC and Heterogeneous wireless networks.
After WRC-07, WRC-2016 will release new spectrum allocation, so the research on the service requirements and application scenarios will be the new subjects for WG3 before that. In addition, the hot bands, such as 450MHz, UHF(700MHz), 2.3-2.4Hz, 2.6GHz, and 3.4-3.6GHz will also be the research stresses for WG3.
BWA WG stresses the pre-standardization research on industrial technologies. The technical framework and assessment methods for the education and information system based on the ubiquitous network have been set up, and the relative research project is being planned.
