IoT Technology and Informational Application Summit Held in Wuxi
Seminar | 2010/11/5October 27 to 28, IoT Technology and Informational Application Summit was given in Wuxi Hubin Hotel. The summit was organized by FuTURE FORUM, as one of the three sub-forums of the First China International IoT Conference which waas co-hosted by MIIT, NDRC, MOST, CAS, Xinhua News Agency, and Jiangsu Provincial Government.
Mr. Wu Hequan, Chair of FuTURE FORUM and Secretary-General of CAE, Mr. Xu Jie, First Deputy Mayor of Wuxi, Mr. Zhao Houlin, Vice Secretary-General of ITU and Advisor of FuTURE FORUM, Mr. Li Li, Vice Director of Dept of Science and Technology of MIIT, Mr. Qiang Xiaozhe, Division Director from Department of High and New Technology Development and Industrialization of MOST, attended the summit, affirming and highly appraising the efforts that FuTURE FORUM made for this summit and in the IoT field.
Mr. Wu Hequan, Chair of FuTURE FORUM, stated in his address the purpose of this summit. He elaborated that IoT has been one of the major subjects in the R&D and communication activity of FuTURE FORUM. Cooperating with Wuxi Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, FuTURE FORUM organized the IoT Technology and Informational Application Summit, in order to share the progresses in the R&D and standardization of IoT technologies, improve the exchange on the latest R&D result and innovative applications in IoT field among the relative enterprises and research institutes, promote the convergent development of IoT and mobile communication technologies, and build a communicative platform for IoT technologies and application solutions.
Mr. Xu Jie, Vice Deputy Mayor of Wuxi expressed that the summit gave an in-depth discussion on the latest standards, commercial modes and application prospects and offered a rare opportunity for us to grasp high-end IoT information, explore the development of IoT industry, and enlighten the innovative technical applications. Mr. Zhao Houlin, Vice Secretary-General of ITU stated that FuTURE FORUM is a leading organization in mobile communication field and will play an important role in IoT field.
Mr. Li Li, Vice Director of Dept of Science and Technology of MIIT, pointed out that IoT is an emerging interdisciplinary, multi-industrial, and cross-field strategic industry, which requires the wide participation and support of governments, enterprises, research institutes, and universities. He hopes that the experts can conduct active discussion on technical communication and cooperation and reach wide consensus on some key technologies.
Mr. Qiang Xiaozhe, Division Director from Department of High and New Technology Development and Industrialization of MOST, pointed out the R&D stresses in IoT field from the aspect of technical innovation. He stated that IoT is a comprehensive field with a lot of innovative potentials. The general framework and key technologies both requires the production-study-research cooperation to make breakthroughs on those R&D stresses. This summit, focusing on the IoT technologies and applications, is closely related to the current development of information technologies.
Experts from over 20 units that are committed to IoT research, such as China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom, CATR, CESI, Datang, ZTE, Huawei, Tsinghua University, SEU, and UESTC attended the summit, discussing the development of the global IoT technologies and standards, innovations in R&D of key technologies, and trade application and solutions.
